PLATITUDES

Maybe it's my attitude
But, the veritable cornucopia
Nay,
The plethora of platitudes
Has me feeling really quite ill.
They occur on many a latitude
With creepy, nondescript
Followers
Displaying sycophantic gratitude,
Why do I care? Still.
Visions of great magnitude
Images seared and scored with
Poetry,
Diluted and disfigured by platitudes
The most banal of overkill.
