DIVI DIVI
She's one so beautiful
Silent paramour,
With outstretched arms
Beckoning a lost love
On a faraway
Distant shore.
She tries to step
From bondage root,
To sail the sea
And scatter her joy
A love full of
Bountiful fruit.
Divi divi
Looking south,
Under a blazing Arubian sky
Pleading, beseeching
Yearning evermore
From gnarled and gaping mouth.
She knows not
Her lover breathes no more,
Her entreaties
Carried on warm breeze
Gently waving fronds
Tap on bolted door.
Natures ballet dancer
Swaying on powdered sand,
This lonely Queen of Aruba
Waits patiently
For a love long lost
On a faraway, distant land.
