Only in England
Can he be seen,
The shaking tree
The Jack O' the green.
Not in a pot
Not in a tub,
He's usually found
Outside a pub.
With morris men
And dancing girls,
Clashing sticks
Bells and twirls.
The Jack O' the green
Comes the 1st of May,
But, it's October
I hear you say.
Well like I said
This is an English trait,
He'll pop up
At any country fair or fete.
From pagan times
He's had his place,
In English folklore
The green smiling face.
