DAFFODIL
In the first light
of dawn,
A world gripped in
a frosty morn
A little friend
caresses our sight.
Shunned by fancy
bouquets
But in our hearts
it stays,
With it’s yellow
trumpet full of might.
An emblem to
succour the ill,
Its bright hope can instil
Against cancer, the
continuous fight.
With its simplicity
unbending,
Whether a
relationship needs mending
It’s a natural
salvation and light.
It’s beautiful
smiling face,
Adorning garden, hedgerow or any place
The daffodil.... this
simple, God given delight.
Phil Hall March 2013
Proper little Wordsworth. Daffodils are a sign of hope that Winter has nearly gone and Spring is on its way. Good emblem for Marie Curie cancer research. The paperwork I had from them recently was such that I took notice and wanted to help them. You've done well again!
