I STAND AT YOUR DOOR

I stand at your door
I stand by your side,
Our love's no more
Our love has died.
You don't see me there
I've melted from your core,
But, I'll always care
I'll stand at your door.
Your eyes hold countless tears
The haunting eyes of wasted child,
It cost us dear those lost years
I stand at your door, soul defiled.
I stand at your door
Though not in the way,
We were so poor
Our hearts flew away.
I stand at your door
A drum beats in my head,
Your new love on a foreign shore
The rhythm is now dead.
An Angel suddenly appeared to me
And guided me to evermore,
Her beauty has set me free
It's now just my sense of duty
Not my heart,
That brings me to your door.
