THE BARBERS
Jeff owns a barbers
shop
His specialist
clippers
Give specialised
crop.
He trims with cut
throat,
Sharpened keen on
strop.
He doesn’t need a
spirit level
To get a perfect
flat top,
He’s got a wall
full of picture mirrors.
I listen to old
music,
While Jeff trims my
hair,
The fully mirrored
walls have
Marilyn Monroe
hanging there,
Jeff with soothing
voice,
With stories he
likes to share,
He’s got a wall
full of hanging mirrors.
There’s an array of
tools
To help Jeff
through the day,
Talcum puffer and
oil in jars
Brilliantine and
setting spray.
There’s stuff I’ve
never seen used,
Coloured gels and
styling clay,
There are whisky
bottles on the hanging mirrors.
A morning in the
barbers
Is a time to chew
the fat.
How’s work? Going
away?
Questions while you’re
sat.
A quick snip at a
loose hair
My GI cut is nice
and flat
And reflected very
nicely, in Jeff’s picture mirrors.
