IN THIS SHELL
In this shell
I reside.
My blood surges,
Racing tide.
In youth I played,
A roller coaster ride.
Began the urge,
Young lady spied.
Fumbling with love,
Valiantly tried.
The blessing of
child,
Paternal pride.
The shell is
cracking,
Gradual slide.
But, my soul’s
elated,
With life’s ebbing
tide.
Unburdened of
shell,
When it has died.
Eternal pleasures
waiting,
On the other side.
