If we wasn’t genetically modified
We’d surely have eventually died out.
Because our distant cousin Neanderthal,
With their big bulging head,
Are not still wandering about.

Bread in bygone days
Had weevils and bugs crawling inside.
Now, with new irradiated flour,
Insects access to your loaf
Is finally denied.

We’ve now got salmon
The size of blue whales.
Cheese that lasts forever,
Milk is still fresh after a week.
And the countryside has skyscraper sized hay bales.

 Now, before you all
Go on the offensive.
Calling me a daft old fool,
All I want to know is this,
Why’s organic food so bloody expensive?

If a supermarket puts mud on a carrot
Then promotes it as organic,
It then charges as much as it likes.
Is dirty veg healthier to eat?
Or am I just being thick?
