MUTILATION
The so called “cradle of
civilization”
The abuse of power in a
revolutionized nation.
Men ignoring a medieval
abomination,
Nowhere states the need
for female mutilation

How can a mother oversee
this barbaric act?
Infection, bleeding, even
death’s a fact.
When questioned imams use
well versed tact,
Claiming the west
interferes even overreacts.
***
When the TV shows young
girls in fear,
It’s hard not to shed a
horrified tear.
Without proper scrutiny of
our land, it’s clear,
This mutilation is
happening somewhere very near.
***
The requirement of a clean
subservient wife,
Evokes the ancient act of
barbs and the knife.
Putting their daughters
through terrible strife,
It’s no place at all in
twenty first century life.
